*Data file(s): ML53_awd.dat

*Format: Header data file format of the NATO TU-BS project.

*Ship (station) name: Mikhail Lomonosov (MHI, Ukraine).

*Expedition: Cruise number 53_a.

*Parameters: Secchi disk depth, meters, Forele_ulle scale, grade
number.

*Instruments and methods: Standard Secchi disk (diameter 0.3 m)
was used with a wire winch from the 5 m height desk. Standard
Forel-Ule scale (21 color samples) was used for determination
of the water color comparing the color of the scale and the
color of the sea water column above the Secchi disk at the 1/2
of its visibility depth.

*Accuracy: The error of the depth determination is approximately
0.5 m.

*Processing (if applied): Corrections were made on the wire angle.

*Principal investigator(s): Valery N.Voskresensky (MHI, Sevastopol,
Ukraine).

*Digitization: Double-key entry at the MHI (Sevastopol, Ukraine)
in September, 1993. Responsible - Dr. A.V.Mishonov.

*Remarks: Data are obtained by qualified stuff and are reliable.

*Completed by: Alexey V.Mishonov (MHI, Sevastopol, Ukraine).

*Date: 19.03.1996.

*Source of data: MHI NASU, Ukraine

*Format: station data file format of the NATO TU-BS project.

*Ship (station) name: R/V Mihail Lomonosov (MHI, Ukra#ne).

*Expedition: cruise number 53A, September, October 1990.

*Parameters: Depth, chlorophyll a, (mg/m3); Phaeopigments (%), disk Seki

*Instruments and methods: chlorophyll a and phaeopigments were measured
fluorometrically by use of laboratory fluorometer constracted on the base
of spectrophotometer "Specol", fitted with a red sensitive photomultiplier,
blue lamp, blue filter and red filter.

*Accuracy: lower limit = 0.01 mg/m3 and the error of Chl and Phaeo
determination is 10-15% (calculated from 10-15 repeatings)

*Expedition: Cruise number 53-A.

*Parameters: Beam Attenuation Coefficient at 427 nm, 1/m (by decimal
logaritm).

*Instruments and methods: The transparensy meter AKP. It is a
two-beam photometer with a single photoreciever and logaritm
