*Expedition: Seasonally cruises between 1985 and 1989, 1 transect
with 5 stations, east of Constantza, sampling at the standard depths.

*Parameters: Temperature (deg. C), salinity (ppt), density (Sig-t),
dissolved oxygen (uM), phosphates (uM), silicates (uM), nitrites (uM)
nitrates (uM), ammonium (uM).

*Instruments and methods: Nansen bottles with reversible thermometers,
dissolved oxygen by standard Winkler titration, salinity by Mohr-Knudsen
method, phosphates, silicates, nitrites, nitrates and ammonium by methods
given in "Methods of seawater analysis" by K.Grasshoff, M.Ehrhardt,
K.Kremling 1983, using a spectrophotometer Beckman Model 25 or 36.

*Accuracy: 0.01 degC for temperature, 5uM for oxygen, 0.02ppt
for salinity, 0.01uM for phosphates and nitrites, 0.05 for silicates,
nitrates and ammonium.

sedimentary method (Morozova - Vodianitskaya 1948, Utermohl method variant);
microscope counting of algae species cells, from subsamples of the
0.5 -1.0 liter samples; biomass estimation trough multiplying numerical

*Expedition: Periodically (three-five times on year) cruises,
1 transect with 5 stations, east of Constantza.

*Parameters:Zoobenthos total biomasses (g/m2).

*Instruments and methods: Sampling on depths on bathymetric zones:10-20m,
20-30 m, 30-40m, 40-50m with Van Veen grab (1/20m2);samples treated on board
with  formaldehyde 4%. In laboratory each sample was sieved by 1mm,
0.25mm and 0.10mm mesh screen; animals were removed under a microscope
identified species and counted. The biomasses of the orgamisms smaller
than 2 mm were calculated using tables of weights and of those larger
2mm by weighting.

fodder biomass(mg/m3), fodder density(ind/m3), Noctiluca biomass
(mg/m3), Noctiluca density(ind/m3), Pleurobrachia biomass
(mg/m3), Pleurobrachia density(ind/m3).

*Instruments and methods: Sampling at horizons (10-0, 25-10,
50-25 m) with Djedi net having 36 cm diameter and 200 microns
mesh size; samples treated on board with formaldehide 4%; in
laboratory each sample was quantitatively (numerically densities
and biomasses on species) and qualitatively analyzed using
plankton-microscope. Biomasses calculaed using the individual
wet-weights given by Petipa (1959).
