*Instruments and methods: Seabird Electronics (SBE) CTD probe with additonal
fluorometer and transmissiometer and deck unit was used with a wire winch from
the rear of the vessel.

*Accuracy: Not applicable since the instruments are not periodically
calibrated (precision is one part in ten thousand).

*Processing (if applied): Data are averaged with respect to one meter
depth bins and converted to ASCII.

*Instruments and methods: -Hydrogen sulfide is determined by iodometric back
titration.
-Phosphate, nitrite, silicate and nitrite+nitrate are determined by
the Technicon Autoanalyzer.
-Chlorophyll is determined by spectrophotometric methods.
-DOW is determined by Winkler titration method.
-pH and alkalinity are determined by the pH-meter.

*Accuracy: Error is applicable for pH and alkalinity and is approximately 0.05.

*Processing (if applied): None.

sensors are. The disk is fixed at a known height offset from the pressure
sensor.

*Accuracy: Approximately 0.5 m.

*Processing (if applied): Corrections are made for the wire angle.
