depth bins and converted to ASCII.

*Parameters: Depth, hydrogen sulfide, phosphate, nitrite, silicate,
chlorophyll, DOW, DOP, nitrite+nitrate, TOC, light transmission, chl-fluor.

*Instruments and methods: -Hydrogen sulfide is determined by iodometric back
titration.
-Phosphate, nitrite, silicate and nitrite+nitrate are determined by
the Technicon Autoanalyzer.
-Chlorophyll is determined both by spectrophotometric and fluorimetric
methods.
-DOW is determined by Winkler titration method.
-DOP is obtained through the sensor on the CTD probe.
-TOC is determined by the Shimadzu TOC 5000 High Temperature
Catalytic Oxidation (HTCO) method.
-Light transmission is determined by a transmissiometer fixed on the
CTD probe.

*Parameters: Secchi disk depth.

*Instruments and methods: Standard Secchi disk (0.3 m in diameter) fixed on
the rosette where the Nansen bottles, the CTD probe and the additional
sensors are. The disk is fixed at a known height offset from the pressure
sensor.

*Accuracy: Approximately 0.5 m.

*Processing (if applied): Corrections are made for the wire angle.

*Principal investigator(s):  Aysen Yilmaz (IMS-METU, Turkey).

*Digitization: Single-key entry at IMS-METU.

*Remarks: The depth is determined by the pressure sensor of the CTD probe
and the staff are reliably experienced.
